Many of our customers use Canva (or another Online Editor tool) to design their card and order a printed version through Paper Culture (we are not directly affiliated with Canva). To make the process easier we have created PDF templates that you can upload directly to Canva to ensure the sizing and dimensions of your final file match perfectly with our available card sizes. Follow these directions to upload a template to an online editor so you can start the process.
Using our Template in Canva
- Visit Do you have templates available for your DIY cards? and find the size you need.
- Download the PDF template.
- Sign into Canva.
- Choose "Upload" in the "What will you design today?" section and choose "Choose File" to find your saved PDF.
- Choose Custom Size after clicking "Use in a new design"
- Click "Create new design" using the automatically-populated size (size of the uploaded image).
- When it loads, you should see the correct number of pages - you can lock all of the elements that loaded to a layer group and adjust the visibility as a guide as you design.
Exporting as PDF from Canva
- Choose “Share” in the top right.
- Choose “Download” in the menu on the bottom of the popup.
- Choose “PDF Print” under File type.
- Check only Flatten PDF.
- Free Account: keep as RGB; Paid Account: change to CMYK.
- Click “Download".
Once your PDF is downloaded, follow the steps below depending on where you are in the process.
If you haven't started personalizing or have a saved proof in your cart without requested edits:
- Ensure your PDF is separated into 1 page each as the photo tray will only recognize the first page.
- Click Personalize from the product page or Edit Design from your cart.
- Click the photo space where you'd like to upload your PDF to open the photo tray.
- Click the upload button and choose your PDF file(s).
- Choose upload and it will load within the photo tray.
- The first PDF you uploaded should populate and you can adjust the positioning. It automatically shows the final preview of it cut, removing 1/8" of bleed on all sides.
If you have already personalized and requested edits through Free Designer Assistance:
- Fill out our Help Request Form, attach your file and submit your request.
- Our Support Team will confirm your submission and submit an edit request on your behalf to use your PDF.
- Once your edits are completed to add your file to the card, you will receive another email confirmation that your proof is ready to approve.
If you have any issues with these steps, please reach out to our support team.
