We have an amazing team of talented designers ready to edit your cards and photos, and while there are very few things we'll say no to, there are some types of edits that go a bit further than just making a good photo great. These guidelines should help you understand which edits require a little more time and may be outside of what we offer.
Resolution
While we can change a photo's size and dimensions, we cannot change the actual resolution. If your photo is pixelated, we will most likely ask for a higher resolution version, since we can't do much to decrease pixelation.
Removing background people/objects
Touching up a photo to remove a speck or stray hair is quick and simple, however, we don't recommend edits that remove large elements, such as an entire person in the foreground, messy floors, furniture, etc. Sometimes we can make these edits smoothly, but most of the time the photo will end up looking a little unnatural, especially if there is not a lot of background to work with such as grass, sand, or sky.
Shadow removal
Fixing up shadowy areas in a photo can make a photo look a little odd in terms of shading, and may often leave the area a little washed-out looking, especially for faces, so we recommend choosing a photo with pleasing shadows. We are happy to attempt to brighten a photo or decrease the intensity of overall shadows, but we will still make sure the contrast and balance of your photo look good.
Extending photos
If your photo can't be decreased or adjusted to fit in the photo space, we can occasionally adjust the photo or the area so everything fits nicely, but we are restricted by the dimensions of the original photo. We can occasionally extend a photo if there is an open area near the edge, but if there is a face or arm cropped out of the photo, we won't be able to extend that portion without distorting the photo. However, where possible, we are happy to do our best!
If you are unsure about what can be done for your photo, you can always request Free Designer Assistance and ask for what you'd like. If it falls into one of the above categories we may let you know the changes can't be made, but we'll do our best to address your concerns and provide feedback if edits aren't possible.
Feel free to contact us to understand your options for photo adjustments.
