What are Paper Culture Photo Books?

Paper Culture photo books are a celebration of both sustainability and contemporary design. Made with 100% post-consumer recycled paper, these hardcover photo books combine luxury materials with our ongoing mission to combat climate change. As with all of our products, a tree is planted with every photo book order.

Creating the perfect photo book is easy with our photo book creator, which can be used on a computer, tablet, or phone. You can choose from a kraft paper cover with a customizable dust jacket or a fully customizable printed cover. Both color and black-and-white photos are supported.

Cover and Page Details

Our photo books are available in square (8x8) and landscape (8x10) sizes.

• Kraft Hardcover: Features a clear foil embossed tree ring celebrating the life trees bring to our world. It is covered by a customizable dust jacket made from 100lb, 100% post-consumer recycled paper that covers 70% of the book.
• Printed Hardcover: Features a fully customizable cover made from 100lb, 100% post-consumer recycled paper, laminated with a soft touch matte film.
• Inner Pages: The inner pages use 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Printed Hardcover (Standard) books feature a 100lb smooth matte sheet, while layflat books (Kraft Hardcover and Printed Layflat Hardcover) feature a thicker 130lb smooth matte sheet.

What is a layflat book?

Layflat books feature thick, luxury pages that open completely flat without damaging the binding. Unlike conventionally bound photo books where the center gets obscured in the gutter, the layflat photo book takes advantage of the entire page. It is perfect for panoramic photos where a single image can stretch seamlessly across a two-page spread.

Pricing and Page Limits

All photo books have a minimum page count of 20 pages (each side of an open book counts as one page). Layflat books (Kraft Hardcover and Printed Layflat Hardcover) have a maximum of 94 pages, while Printed Hardcover (Standard) books have a maximum of 280 pages.
