Timing is everything, but especially when planning for your wedding day. While it's ultimately up to you and your schedule when your invitations are sent, here are some general guidelines for sending out each piece of your suite:
- Save the Dates: 10–12 months before the event. Save The Dates should be sent out as soon as your location and date have been confirmed to give your friends and family as much advance notice as possible. Time to get excited!
- Invitations: 2–5 months before the event. Typically, invitations are sent out 6-8 weeks ahead of time if you are planning a local wedding. Destination wedding? Send 3+ months in advance to ensure guests can make travel arrangements.
- Wedding Thank You Notes: Order 2–3 months before the event, send 2 weeks after. While many things can be done via social media and texts, thank you notes are not one of them.
- Ceremony and Reception Items: 4 weeks before the event. Day of stationery includes wedding programs, ceremony, menus, table cards, and place cards.
