What does the designer mean by "accounting for shifts during the cutting process"?
There is a 1/8th margin of error when printing and cutting the cards so we highly recommend adjusting your design to account for any shifts in movement.
What does the designer mean by "bleed"?
Bleed is the area of the card that will be cut off during the printing process. Your card should also account for the 1/8th inch movement during the production of the card.
Why does my image keep getting cut off on the site?
Your canvas size needs to run to the edge of the template but all the important details should fit to the Design Area. Go ahead and compare these two images below for more clarification!
When adding bleed to the design, will I need to add bleed markings?
When asked to add bleed to the design, adding bleed markings for where to cut will not be necessary. Our team automatically cuts the 1/8th inch on all sides of the card. If markings are added, it risks it being visible if movement happens.
