How do I add a filter to a photo I've uploaded?
After you've opened the advanced photo menu, click "Effects" to be taken to a selection of filters. You can then click through the list to see a preview of how the effect will appear.
Click "Apply" and then "Save" and you'll see the effect applied in the personalization preview.
Some things to keep in mind:
- After applying and saving a filter, your photo is permanently changed on the site, so to get your original back, you'll need to upload it again
- Filters can create fun moods for your photos, but keep in mind that they aren't the same as a professional color correction. If you are trying to achieve a very specific effect you may be better off requesting free designer assistance
- If your monitor is very bright, some of the more subtle filters may not appear as intense as they will print. For example, a light yellow filter may not look like much on your screen, but it may print with darker yellow tones. If you're ever unsure of how a filter will look, we're happy to provide an opinion
- If you have a great photo already, we'll usually recommend to just let the original photo speak for itself!
